03 Apr Venus – Not all Hugs and Kisses
By Sasha Boyle and Tiffany Harelik
Venus, the planet of creativity, beauty, love, and fertility has had a very intense year. Cosmically, she embodies the domestic goddess and thus began the year swiftly carrying on with the invisible work, as women do. Her tasks have not been easy – after all, she has spent January fully embroiled in the underworld with Pluto and Saturn.
But the dark underworld, in fact, is her original home. Intuition, pain, and pleasure are all part of her lineage. But as many of us have experienced, this winter sojourn has not been a homecoming for sweet Venus.
She has been in a heavy board meeting where she became privy to the plans of a 200-year cycle, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions in the air triplicities, and the historic Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. She can’t be all that comfortable with Uranus occupying Taurus either.
We don’t know what new curveballs are yet to come in the astrology of 2020. It is only in viewing these aspects in the rearview mirror that the clarity comes. But as we watch Empress Venus leave the security of her domicile (Earth sign Taurus) we get another clue.
Voluptuous in form, she leaves the board meeting and pulls on her confining but appropriate biker leathers and ventures into Gemini April 3, 2020. If you have ever felt true radiant contentment, you know her grace well. The power of Venusian love is real. Under Gemini, she stands naked with her lover under the outstretched wings of the Archangels. It will only be through surrender, and acceptance – that blessings and boons will be granted while Venus travels in Gemini. What is she asking for? What does she want us to learn?
When Venus stations retrograde on May 13, 2020, it’s a good time to ask about what we want, and why. A time to consider our relationships to the place where you are physically at – to the land and its history. Venus retrograde also calls us to reconsider things like sex, money, creativity and even“feminine” energy – both the role of feminine energy in the world, and within ourselves.
The retrograde mission will be in finding an authentic understanding of our own Venusian experience, but there will be a danger of swinging wildly from ‘everything is great’ to ‘omg everything is falling apart.’ Know this: Venus in Gemini brings up dualities. Are your feet doing what your mouth is saying? Are you believing the lie that your self worth is tied to your net worth?
What lessons Venus has for you while in Gemini depends on the exact snapshot of your natal astrology chart. What house does Gemini occupy in your birth chart? We have curated a Venus Retrograde Survival Guide that goes house by house to help you identify the gifts available to all of us: our capabilities in love and money, our desire to love and be loved, and finding the frequency of long-lasting self-confidence.
The Survival Guide and recent podcast contain lessons, mantras, meditations, crystals, and more. If you need help determining which house Gemini occupies in your chart – just email us! [email protected].
