New Moon in Pisces 2018

New Moon in Pisces 2018

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! An AstroMagical New Moon at 26° Pisces (8:11am CST) comes in right behind beautiful Venus trining the (destiny marker) the North Node on March 17th – Saint Patrick’s Day!  There’s a significant moment in the day when the North Node makes an appearance – pay attention to who shows up and who comes to mind. This beautiful energy around romance, destiny, and financial flow is available to you today amidst more tense energies.

Mars enters Capricorn today as well, which typically marks a several week period of ambition and endurance. However, Mars is also “out of bounds” from March 17th at to April 7th. The Mars energies will tend to be a little more explosive and out of control. We will see more shadow sides of Mars being expressed. Be aware of old anger bubbling up for release (and hopefully healing) and find some healthy outlets to explore releases of any combative-type energy. You may want to be more cautious these next few weeks. Stay hydrated, and proceed with caution.

There is a VOC period  today from 10:39am – 1:56pm (CST) and then the Moon passes from Pisces into Aries.  Anything started during this period probably won’t amount to much. Normally we have about 8 hours after a New Moon is exact to make our wishes, but with a VOC period so close to it, I’m recommending you do your New Moon wishes between 8:11am and 10:39am CST.

With the New Moon in Pisces you can ask yourself:

  • What do you need more of in life?
  • More acceptance?
  • Compassion?
  • Connection with Spirit?

Include those Piscean vibrations in your New Moon wishes. Focus on beauty rest, love, increasing intuition, learning more about meditation and yoga, taking time for quiet, forgiving yourself, acceptance and compassion. It can be a time to ask for help to break free from addictions, procrastination, anxiety, and toxicities. Pisces rules illusions and illusive states: confusion/chaos, sleep/fantasy, meditation, etc. Where can you take off the mask? Also worth mentioning whil you’re making your wishes – the 26th degree of Pisces is a highly sensitive and very methodical degree of Pisces that is also noted for unconventional relationships.

I loved Emily Trinkaus’ article on this Pisces New Moon in The Mountain Astrologer so much that I wanted to include a short excerpt:

“The Pisces New Moon invites us to renew our relationship with the invisible and reconnect with the deepest truth of who we are – infinite, eternal, and divine. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, where we dissolve back into the ocean of consciousness and return to source. The Pisces season washes clean the closing astrological year, a time for rest, healing, reflection, and spiritual replenishment. Pisces is mutable water, and this New Moon supports soul-level shifts that help us to realign with the flow of life. When we let go of resistance and judgment and bring forth our compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance, we have a starting point for creating miracles. This is a time to prepare our bocies and psyches for the equinox rebirth, when the Sun goes into Aries on March 20 and starts a new astrological cycle.”

Lunar cycle heads up: This New Moon is cycling towards the 3/31: FULL MOON at 10° Libra (7:36a CST). 10° Libra is an ideal degree for the completion energy of the Full Moon. This degree is typically easy going and non-confrontational (phew!). There is a firm assurance that all is well with finances. Relationships are typically loving and good natured. And to add some AstroWellBeing to the mix – I’ve pulled a quote from one of Molly’s articles: “The Full Moon in Libra highlights the skin and kidneys as areas to target for treatments (other than surgical) and self-love.” That Full Moon sets the stage for the next two weeks, as the Moon winds down from its maximum to begin a fresh, hot, and faster New Moon in fiery Aries on April 15th.
