New Moon Eclipse in Pisces February 26, 2017

New Moon Eclipse in Pisces February 26, 2017

Mars joins Uranus and the skies turn electric on this New Moon. That coupled with Jupiter opposite Uranus marks a time when people are more prone to act out in unexpected, shocking, or explosive ways. There could be uncomfortable feelings of being out of control. If we don’t lose our cool, the New Moon in mutable Pisces brings forth opportunities to feel your way to your bliss in new ways you hadn’t considered before.

This is the empath’s moon, when boundaries are so vague that you can take on any role, understand any perspective, and mind meld with those around you. In your New Moon rituals, focus your intentions toward compassion, spiritual healing, psychic gifts, and musical gifts.

Pisces co-rules the sacral chakra. This is where we get to work on money and self-worth issues, creativity and working through feelings and emotions. Some even say this area is the “second brain,” perhaps giving some credit to the saying ‘go with your gut’.

When making a decision around this Moon, think about how the end result would make you feel. Do you know the coin toss trick? When you’re having trouble making a decision, flip a coin. Whether it lands on the thing you didn’t want to do, or the thing you did want to do deep down, you’ll have a strong enough reaction to the coin toss that you will know what you really want to do.

Ceremony and Celebrations

  • Bring in the water element with any New Moon celebrations you do tonight.
  • Take a healing swim in the river.
  • Have a picnic by the water and journal about your feelings.
  • Take a medicinal Epsom salt bath.
  • Sprinkle Holy water around the perimeter of your home.
  • Spray lavender water throughout your house as a method of clearing energy.

Prayers & Intentions

What do you need more of in life? More acceptance? Compassion? Connection with Spirit? Include those Piscean vibrations in your New Moon wishes. Focus on beauty rest, love, increasing intuition, learning more about meditation and yoga, taking time for quiet, forgiving yourself, acceptance and compassion. It can be a time to ask for help to break free from addictions, procrastination, anxiety, and toxicities.

Molly’s holistic health forecast

The Pisces Moon season conjures up raw feelings and may bring an urge to backslide into patterns that work against your wellbeing. Pisces is associated with flare-ups of these:

  • Addiction
  • Allergy
  • Autoimmunity
  • Infection
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep issues
  • Drug reaction or interaction
  • Poisoning, intoxication, toxicity symptoms

We’re not saying you’ll get one or all of these conditions. However, it may help to be aware of the generalities and prepared for a time of lower resistance and tenderer feelings. Although sleep may be disturbed or unusual, dreams will be especially vivid and informative, as Pisces thins the veil between the conscious and unconscious mind.

There will likely be two distinct voices in your mind: your intuition and your cravings. Sometimes, it is hard to tell the difference! Our formula for getting through what is likely to be a nasty cold season is:

  • Avoid refined carbohydrates– sugar and flour.
  • Eat a clean, whole-food diet, including lots of nature’s multivitamins (fruits, nuts, and vegetables).
  • Get the best sleep you can.

During the Pisces New Moon, you may desire foods that help you feel more grounded. Think roots, dark meat, organ meat, and other things of the Earth. Eat locally– the closer to the source, the better for you (and the planet!). A water sign, the Pisces Moon may also have you interested in more watery foods like soups, seafood, or Mediterranean cuisine.
