04 Sep Annual Profections – Finding Your Time Lord
In astrology, time lords are a concept used to determine which planet has the most influence over specific periods in a person’s life. How can you find yours, and what does it mean?
Understanding Time Lords in Astrology: A Guide to Annual Profections and House Themes
What Are Time Lords?
Time lords are planets that play a leading role during a specific period in your life. Each planet has its own themes and influences. Mars rules assertiveness, passion, and drive. While Saturn rules boundaries, discipline, and long term strategies. When a planet becomes your time lord, that planets special focus areas become emphasized.
One of the most common methods for determining time lords is through annual profections. In this technique, each year of your life corresponds to one of the twelve houses in your natal chart, and the ruling planet of that house becomes the time lord for that year. This ruling planet’s influence can highlight certain aspects of your life, providing insight into the kinds of experiences you will encounter during that year.
For example, if you are 44 years old – you can see on the wheel that 44 corresponds to a 9th house year. You would then look at the cusp of your 9th house. Mine is Leo. The Sun is the ruling planet of Leo. So I would incorporate these elements: 9th house themes, Leo general themes, and then I would find my natal Sun and add themes from it (mine is a 12th house Scorpio Sun).
You will need the above profection wheel, a copy of your natal chart, and an understanding of the ruling planets for each cusp on your chart.
